STORY BEHIND THE GAME
We've all had those moments when someone randomly drops a movie line into a conversation and suddenly everybody's laughing. Whether it's an inside joke with your best friend or a perfectly timed quote in the middle of a serious conversation, movie lines have a way of bringing people together.
In my community, movie lines aren't just quotes. They're how we connect. They're inside jokes, they're comfort, they're identity. Someone drops a line, and suddenly the whole room is speaking the same language.
HOW ACT OR PASS CAME TO LIFE
One movie line dropped in the middle of the night turned into an idea that would eventually become ACT OR PASS.
What started as a spontaneous moment between people sharing a laugh grew into something much bigger. I dropped a movie line, we laughed so hard, and my girlfriend said “what if that were a game?”. And just like that, ACT OR PASS was born.
I've always loved how games bring people together. Classics like Charades, Taboo, Cards Against Humanity, and Black Card Revoked all inspired the idea of creating something that combined quick thinking, creativity, friendly competition, and our shared love of movies.

MORE THAN JUST A CARD GAME
ACT OR PASS is more than just guessing movies or scoring points. I’ve watched ACT OR PASS break social barriers, spark joy in rooms, and give the shyest players the confidence and courage to step outside their comfort zones.
The friend who swears they can't act but suddenly deserves an Oscar.
The family member who knows every movie line written.
The bestie who hasn't seen half the films but somehow gets ridiculously creative on the spot to help their team guess correctly.
It's about bringing people together, breaking the ice, inspiring creativity, and giving everyone a chance to make a scene.
Because sometimes the best memories aren't planned. They happen when you're surrounded by the right people, at the right time, having a good time.

I’m a numbers person by profession, but I’m a creative and entrepreneur at heart. I truly believe that life's best moments happen organically, when we're simply enjoying the people around us.
With over 20 years of experience in business and finance, I know what it takes to turn an idea into something real. But ACT OR PASS came from a completely different side of me.
As a Black woman, my love for movies, humor, and storytelling are deeply rooted in my culture. Growing up movie quotes were more than just lines from a film. They were part of everyday conversations, inside jokes, and shared experiences. One classic movie line could make an entire room connect! Those are the random moments of laughter and connection that I wanted to capture and turn into something everyone could enjoy.
My hope is that ACT OR PASS brings people together, sparks genuine laughter, and creates moments you'll never forget.
